Anointing of the Sick
While our other "Sacraments" pages focus primarily upon Christian formation by way of preparing to receive the various Sacraments, the Anointing of the Sick requires no preparatory study and is given immediately to any Catholic in time of need.
By no means reserved solely for situations in which death is imminent, the Anointing of the Sick is a repeatable sacrament of healing, received at times of significant illness, or impending surgery or childbirth.
If you would like to arrange to receive this Sacrament prior to a scheduled surgery or some other medical need, please contact the Parish Office or speak to Fr. Bergman while you are here at the Parish for Mass and he will be glad to anoint you. If you or a loved one is hospitalized and the need for a Priest is urgent, do call the Parish Office, but if your call is answered only by voice mail, make your need known to the hospital staff and the Diocese of Scranton on-call Priest for that day will be dispatched as soon as possible.
