Confirmation
Youth
Young people prepare for the Sacrament of Confirmation primarialy by attending the Confirmation Sunday School class, usually in grades 6 & 7. At the end of the two-year process (as well as completion of a substantial service project approved by the Pastor), youth are typically confirmed on the Bishop's visitation, usually on or about August 18. Youth new to the Catholic faith who are receiving not just their Confirmation, but other Sacraments of Initiation such as Baptism and/or First Holy Communion, will typically receive all of these Sacraments together on one occasion, having also previously undertaken their First Confession beforehand. Adults
Whether joining the Catholic Church for the first time or preparing for Sacraments of Initiation not comleted in childhood, adults generally prepare for Confirmation by attening the Inquirer's Class. Those new to the Catholic faith who are receiving not just their Confirmation, but other Sacraments of Initiation such as Baptism and/or First Holy Communion, will typically receive all of these Sacraments together on one occasion, having also previously undertaken their First Confession beforehand. Adults are typically confirmed at the Solemn Vigil of Easter, on Pentecost (50 days after Easter), or the Bishop's visitation, usually on or about August 18.
For both youth and adults, if intractable scheduling conflicts make these classes impossible to attend, the Pastor is happy to provide private catechesis at a mutially agreeable time.
