Christian Formation at St. Thomas More
At St. Thomas More, one of our primary emphases is providing a wide array of opportunities for growing in our knowledge and understanding of the Catholic faith. Regardless of age or background, there is a class, small group, or resource we offer in which you can begin at your own level and engage in an enriching journey of spiritual growth.
Though these programs take the usual forms of classes and discussion groups, it is never our intent to impart mere "book knowledge," but to nourish a lively and mature personal relationship with Jesus Christ. As in all things, here we cheerfully affirm the Catechism of the Catholic Church:
"We do not believe in formulae, but in those realities they express, which faith allows us to touch. 'The believer's act of faith does not terminate in the propositions, but in the realities which they express.' (St. Thomas Aquinas) All the same, we do approach these realities with the help of formulations of the faith which permit us to express the faith and to hand it on, to celebrate it in community, to assimilate and live on it more and more."
The two fundamental texts expressing the fullness of the Catholic Faith are The Holy Bible and the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
